The Challenge

Deliver a large-scale, multi-socioeconomic and multi-generational housing community in Boulder County that bridges diverse needs, supports seamless access to amenities, and pioneers sustainability, all within a strict timeline and budget.

Our Solution

We designed and implemented a vibrant, color-coded wayfinding system throughout the 400-unit community—most notably in the senior living residences—to ensure ease of navigation for all, while specifying innovative, all-electric HVAC systems for maximum energy efficiency and reduced operating costs.

The Results

Willoughby Project was completed on schedule and within budget, delivering 192 affordable homes in Phase 1 (final planned total: 400) under budget and ahead of schedule, with a $114 million investment and $15 million in public infrastructure improvements, and establishing a new benchmark for inclusive and sustainable community living in Boulder County.
